Heathen Soulcrafts
The soulcrafts of Heathenry, or those mystical / magical arts, are:
-Galdr (Old Norse), “magic song, charm”.
-Spae (Old Norse), “prophesy, foretell”.
-Seidhr (Old Norse), “spell, charm, enchantment, incantation”.
-Wortcunning (Old English), “herb-knowing”.
-Leechcraft (Old English), “cure-, heal-craft”.
Learning one or more of these crafts involves fjölkyngi or “much knowing”, denoting many years of study. Further, such crafts must be learned from a ‘master’ or skilled practitioner. Learning herbology, for example, is part of Wortcunning; the other aspect is learning this craft from a Heathen perspective.
